Product Description
Our range of Spectra lines have our normal main line set at 55 feet with people adding extra shorts of 5 feet for $10 per extra short to make up the combination they want.
40 FT MAINLINES:
People with no tower or high pole behind a general purpose boat having an outboard are more suited to use a 40 foot mainline and add a handle to it. Otherwise a 55ft mainline and handle is a good starting point, and coming back and getting a couple of shorts if and when you feel you need them - if in doubt, give us an email/call.
AMSTEAL SPECTRA
The line is 2.5mm Sampson Ropes Amsteal 12 braid Spectra line. This line has a 1500kg breaking ability, tougher than the average wake line on the market. We bring out the line direct from the USA in whole rolls and spice it up for these lines so there is always the ability for us to make up a custom line for anyone. This line has zero stretch at any load, one aspect that no other wake line can guarantee. Often you will find other wake lines made of spectra to not be produced of a pure spectra like Amsteal is made, and has some stretch in it at load. Don't be fooled by the price, this line is top shelf and there is NO line of a higher quality or spec in the world.
Important to note:
1- Full length refers to a Line and handle package that makes up 75 feet in total length
2- All handles have 5 feet of line on them, so you need to take this into calculation in your line set up.
3- A handle, 55 foot mainline, and Three 5 foot shorts would deliver a 75 foot line and handle combo (full length)
4- People with no tower or central high pole do not need anything longer than a 55ft mainline and handle.
5- People with a general purpose boat with outboard, with no high pole should consider a 40 foot mainline and handle to start with.
6- People with a tower on a stern driven boat, do not need anything more than a 55 foot mainline with two extra shorts (70 feet) as this tends to be the maximum behind this type of boat. Sea Ray, Bayliner, Regal, and Four Winns tend to fall into this category.
7- People with a Mastercraft, Nautique, Malibu, or boat of similar spec, often ride at 70-80 feet with some being able to ride with clean wakes out to 100 feet in a Nautique or Mastercraft.
8- You can always get a short (shorts) to add on afterwards if in doubt
9- Mainlines differ greatly in length between manufactures but refers to the bulk single length of line longer than 20 feet that is attached to the handle and goes out to the first short. Shorts often are 5 foot in length, but can be up to 15 feet in length.
